What the customer needed.

EV battery housings combine large size, complex geometry and high-volume demand. The customer needed throughput that traditional vertical machining could not deliver — and crucially, the ability to run lights-out shifts to meet capacity ramp targets.

The Manford Solution

How we engineered the answer.

Manford configured a cell of HM-630 horizontal machining centers with 8-pallet APC systems, BBT-50 high-torque spindles and integrated chip handling. Each cell can run two full shifts unattended with pre-staged pallets.

The Outcome

The customer hit their capacity target six months ahead of schedule, reducing per-part labor cost by 30% and freeing operators for higher-value tasks. The cell now runs 24/7 with a single operator per shift overseeing four machines.
